We are looking for a Family Advocate who will be responsible for assisting Early Head Start families in problem solving, setting, and accomplishing family and individual goals through direct service, resources, and referrals.

HOURS: Monday - Thursday (8:00AM - 5:30PM) with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break, (Friday 8:00AM-12:00PM).

Location: In office (Riviera Beach, FL), from home and in the field.

What you'll do:

  • Eligibility of families: enrolling, collecting documentation, completing applications.
  • 70% on the phone with either parents or providers.
  • Follow up on family's needs and update goals/outcomes.
  • 30% data entry and developing trainings for parents or providers.
  • Send resources to families.
  • Supporting providers with existing families and/or new enrollments.
  • Meeting with managers and/or completing reports.
  • Occasionally, drive to providers, outreach events, pass out supplies or recruitment in Palm Beach County.

You have:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in Social Work, Counseling, Human Services, Family Services, Sociology, or a related field, required.
  • Two years of case work and related experience and/or training serving culturally diverse communities/families, required.
  • Experience in Head Start/Early Head Start programs, preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • The ability to complete mandatory in office trainings and attend meetings when required.
  • You have knowledge of general office procedures of basic operational tasks, including answering phones, using email, using computerized and online systems to perform daily work.

You are:

  • Available some nights and weekends for trainings and outreach events.
  • Customer service oriented with a compassionate customer service mindset: empathetic, responsive, patient, and conscientious.
  • Highly dependable with the ability to maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
  • Tech savvy overall, using cloud-based systems, IOS, Windows 8 and 10, with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook.)
